Spectrum lighting prides itself on in house fabrication with TIG, MIG, arc and spot welding. This process allows us to finish fixtures, trims and housings to a high standard. Wall arms, brackets and other structural lighting components are also fabricated and formed in this department.
Tool & Die Machining
Spectrum Lighting’s Tool and Die Machine Shop is where many of our products are started and take shape (literally) at the hands of our skilled craftsmen. The machine shop has several high speed machining centers to produce press and spin tooling, LED heat sinks as well as turning, milling, EDM and other operations.
A True Lighting Manufacturer
Spectrum Lighting produces major components of lighting fixtures that it sells, allowing total control of design, inventory, and quality. This enables Spectrum to custom design fixtures and retrofits quickly and economically. We have dedicated employees in each section of our factory. Learn more about our factory by clicking here.
History Of Spectrum
Spectrum Lighting was founded in 1992 by partners Jeff Fein and Chris Roemlein. The original product line included low voltage architectural landscape, specialty yacht and transportation lighting.
Spectrum has grown by continuing to take on new challenges and providing customers with innovative solutions. The business that started in a 500 square foot garage now encompasses a 7 acre mini campus with three buildings and over 250,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space.
Sheet Metal Shop
Spectrum Lighting’s Sheet Metal Shop has modern laser, CNC punch press, press brake and other automated sheet metal forming and fabrication equipment. This department produces most major components used to build our fixtures. Work is done on a flexible schedule and can be configured to meet demands of the marketplace.
Spectrum Lighting’s Spinning Shop is one of the wonders of any in house tour. The metal spinning shop produces optical reflectors, recessed trims, light fixture housings, canopies, cylinders and a host of other parts. There is a long history of metal spinning process in our area dating back to pre-revolutionary war metal smiths (Paul Revere Sr. of New Bedford MA ).
Spectrum lighting runs a state of the art powder coat process with a five stage chromate pretreat and multi stage oven. Three booths are fed so we are able to run multiple colors on a given day. Spectrum also has a custom “wet” booth for special finishes and paints.
